the process:
the paper mâché process starts by creating the shape for your sculpture using bags, wire, paper towels and many other items can be used. Then you use flour and water to create a paste to dip newspaper into it and then smooth the newspaper on you sculpture. Once you have a good layer of newspaper then you move to paper towels. After the paper towels are dry you sand them smooth. Lastly you paint your sculpture and add details. how was it sucessful: my piece was successful because it stands up on its own, it turned out the perfect size and I really like the color that I chose. difficulty: I had difficulty with the initial build of my sculpture but it worked out in the end. I also had a little bit of trouble remaking the same colors when painting. |
